Shop FAQ

Some clarifications and caveats about the signed books shop.

Q. The books in the shop are a little expensive.

A. They definitely are.  As an author, bookstores are my best partners and I definitely don’t want to compete with them!  If you’re looking for an inexpensive copy, you should try your local bookstore, Barnes & Noble, or Amazon.  This shop is for people who really want signed copies.

Q. Why don’t you have all your books for sale in the shop?

A. Most of the books in the shop are out of print in hardcover, so I have no special way to get more copies.  The stock here represents what I have on hand.

Q. Why don’t you have the first book in a series?

A. Those tend to be the most popular, so they sell out fastest.

Q. Can you order me a copy of something?

A. I usually don’t, since I’d just be looking for copies at used book sites.  If you are a collector looking to buy a complete signed set or similar, and you are willing to pay a premium, you can contact me and I can see what I can do.

Q. Why does it cost more to ship T-shirts than books?

A. Within the US, books can go Media Mail, which has a discounted rate.  Shipping to Canada is the same for both.

Q. Can you ship outside the US and Canada?

A. It’s usually cost-prohibitive — shipping to anywhere in Europe can be more than the cost of the book.  If you’re willing to pay, I can ship and bill you for the total cost.  Contact me, but just be warned it can be a lot.
